U.D.O. sagen „Basta Ya!“ / neuer Track vom „Steelhammer“ Album online!

Die deutsche Edelmetallschmiede U.D.O. hat für ihr am 24.5.
erscheinendes neues Album einen Song aufgenommen, mit dem sie sich auch
an die Jugend im vereinten Europa und deren Situation wenden.
„Die Jugend Europas befindet sich in einer bislang unvergleichbaren Lage“, so Sänger Udo Dirkschneider. „Sie
ist die erste Generation, die komplett in einem vereinten Europa
aufwächst und sich darin zurechtfinden muss. Und die letztendlich auch
dessen Zukunft in Händen hält, so schwer dabei die Ausgangslage für so
manch einen auch ist.“

Seit mittlerweile vier Jahren lebt das Urgestein in seiner
Wahlheimat Ibiza/Spanien und damit einem Land, das die Auswirkungen der
Euro-Krise sehr deutlich zu spüren bekommt: rund 50% aller Jugendlichen
dort sind arbeitslos. Die meisten von ihnen stehen am Beginn ihres
Lebens und haben bereits langfristig keine Aussicht, selbiges irgendwie
anpacken zu können.
„Mich beschäftigt dieses Thema sehr“, so Dirkschneider. „Ich
bin selbst Familienvater und habe zwei mittlerweile erwachsene Kinder,
die gerade in ihr Berufsleben gestartet sind. Junge Menschen brauchen
Chancen, Möglichkeiten, etwas erreichen zu können. Das, was in Spanien
im Moment passiert, ist weit davon entfernt. Junge Leute sind hier mit
großen Existenzängsten konfrontiert.“

Mit dem Titel „Basta Ya“ ist der neue
U.D.O.-Song ein sehr energischer, dynamischer geworden. Passend zur
Situation singt ihn Udo Dirkschneider – erstmals in seiner Karriere – in
spanischer Sprache. „Basta Ya“ ist ein typischer Ausspruch, den man in
allen Spanisch sprechenden Ländern kennt. Man bringt damit seinen
Protest gegen Ungerechtigkeit und Ausnutzung zum Ausdruck und will sich
und andere gleichzeitig damit motivieren, etwas zu verändern. Die
Jugend Europas hat damit eine Hymne bekommen.

OLIVA: “Raise The Curtain” – the first ever solo album of SAVATAGE mastermind Jon Oliva!

More than thirty years
after the start of his career with Savatage, and successive
projects/bands like Trans-Siberian Orchestra and Jon Oliva’s Pain, now
legendary songwriter und performer Jon Oliva releases his first ever
solo album, titled „Raise The Curtain”.
On June 21st (USA: July 2nd) the master’s new
piece of work will be available as CD Digipak (first edition) and
2-vinyl (gatefold, limited to 800 copies worldwide).
The album will be released simply under the banner „OLIVA“
and you can expect a mixture of Jon Oliva’s early influences and the
material he wrote and recorded throughout his whole artistic career.

U.D.O.: „Basta Ya!“ / new song from upcoming album available!

German Heavy Metal force U.D.O. has recorded a special song for their upcoming album „Steelhammer“, which will be released on May 24th (May 21st USA). “Basta Ya” comes up with a hot topic; the lack of perspectives for the youth in a united Europe.
“The youth in Europe is in a unique situation at the moment”, vocalist Udo Dirkschneider explains. “They
are the first generation to grow up in a united Europe and therefore
the first who have to deal with the circumstances this brings. Also,
however hard their respective situation might be, they hold the future
in their hands.“

Since four years now, Dirkschneider himself lives in
Ibiza/Spain, a country where the effects of the Euro crisis left their
marks unmistakably, with an unemployment rate of 50% among the
adolescents.
„This is something I really think about a lot“, Dirkschneider speaks out.
„I’m a family father myself, a father of two now adult kids who both
just started their working life. Young people need chances,
opportunities to reach something. What happens in Spain right now, is
far away from this. It’s obvious that a whole generation is in fear of
losing their livelihood.”

Therefore the new U.D.O. song „Basta Ya“ became a very
energetic one. To match the situation, the track is Udo Dirkschneiders
first recording ever in Spanish language. „Basta Ya“ is a typical shout
which is known in all Spanish speaking countries, to protest against
injustice. At the same time it’s a shout of motivation, to force a
change. Vitor Garcia of Spain’s premiere Heavy Metal band Warcy is
singing “Basta Ya” in a duet with Dirkschneider.

SOIL: Original-Sänger Ryan McCombs zurück in der Band /neues Album erscheint am 16. August!

Wer erinnert sich nicht an “Halo”, den wohl bekanntesten Song der US Alternative/Metal Band SOIL?
Sänger damals war Ryan McCombs, der die Band später verließ um als neuer Frontmann bei  Drowning Pool einzusteigen.
Zur Freude der Fans kehrte Ryan kürzlich zu SOIL zurück und wird natürlich auch auf allen Songs des neuen Albums “Whole” (erscheint am 16. August weltweit über AFM Records – ausgenommen USA und Kanada) zu hören sein.
Als erster Vorgeschmack ist soeben die Single zum neuen Track „Shine On“ veröffentlicht worden.

WOLFPAKK: das Heavy Rock-Allstar-Projekt veröffentlicht „Cry Wolf“ am 30.08.!

Im August 2011 erschein das schlicht „Wolfpakk“ betitelte Debütalbum des Allstar-Projekts WOLFPAKK. Die „Leitwölfe“ Mark Sweeney (ex-Crystal Ball)  und Michael Voss (Mad Max, Casanova) lassen nun, genau zwei Jahre später, mit „Cry Wolf“ den Nachfolger von der Leine.
Erneut haben die beiden eine illustre Schar an hochkarätigen Gästen versammeln können, um den zweiten WOLFPAKK Longplayer fertigzustellen.
„Cry Wolf“ erscheint am 30.08.

SOIL: new album (feat. returning original vocalist Ryan McCombs) to be released on August 16th!

Who does not remember “Halo”, undoubtedly the most popular song of US alternative/Metal band SOIL? On vocals back then, Ryan McCombs, who later should leave SOIL to become the new frontman of Drowning Pool.
Ryan, much to the delight of the fans, finally returned to the band recently and of course will sing all songs on the new album “Whole”, which will be released on August 16th worldwide (excl. USA and Canada) via AFM Records.
As a first foretaste the album’s first single “Shine On” is available now.

Their new album „Steelhammer“ turns out to become the most successful in the history of U.D.O. and delivers a full dose of first-class Heavy Metal. But Metal icon Udo Dirkschneider and his band also have another side: the Song „Heavy Rain“ is quite unusual for U.D.O. because of its silent tunes and reflective mood.
The band filmed a video clip for the song which is now available.

WOLFPAKK: the Heavy Rock-allstar-project releases „Cry Wolf“ on August 30th!

In August 2011, WOLFPAKK, the allstar-project led by Mark Sweeney (ex-Crystal Ball) and Michael Voss (Mad Max, Casanova) was releasing its debut, simply titled “Wolfpakk”.
Now, two years after, Sweeney and Voss unleash the successor,  „Cry Wolf”.
Again the two leaders managed to gather many high-class guest musicians and vocalists, to record WOLFPAKK’s second longplayer.
„Cry Wolf“ will be released on August 30th.

Die Sessions aus denen schließlich “From Beer To Eternity” entstehen sollten, fanden in Jourgensens 13th Planet Studio in El Paso (Texas) statt. Die 11 Songs von "From Beer To Eternity" wurden komponiert und produziert von Al Jourgensen, der ebenso alle Texte beisteuerte. Zusammen mit den Gitarristen Mike Scaccia und Sin Quirin sowie Drummer Aaron Rossi und Bassist Tony Campos entstanden Rough Mixes für 18 Songs. Die Aufnahmen endeten am 19. Dezember. Nur drei Tage später sollte der erst 47-jährige Scaccia tragischerweise bei einem Gig mit Rigor Mortis auf der Bühne einen Herzanfall erleiden und versterben. Jourgensen, Quirin, Rossi und Campos sind am Boden zerstört, aber finden nicht zuletzt hierdurch den unbedingten Willen, "From Beer To Eternity" zu etwas ganz Besonderem fertigzustellen.

HUMAN FORTRESS unterschreiben bei AFM Records!

Die Hannoveraner Epic Power Metaller HUMAN FORTRESS haben einen Vertrag mit AFM Records geschlossen.
Nach fünfjähriger Pause meldet sich die Band mit ihrem neuen Sänger Gus Monsanto (ex-Revolution Renaissance/Adagio) und einer klaren Mission zurück.

Gitarrist Torsten Wolf: „Wir wollen mit unserem kommenden Album wieder an den Sound unserer ersten zwei Veröffentlichungen „Lord Of Earth And Heavens Heir“ und „Defenders Of The Crown“ anknüpfen. Sehr froh sind wir darüber, mit Gus einen so fabelhaften neuen Sänger gefunden zu haben.“

Gus Monsanto: „Diese Art von Musik wollte ich schon immer machen, konnte aber in Brasilien so eine Band nicht finden. Wirklich fantastische Songs mit ganz großen Hooks, die mich sofort überzeugt haben. Ich kann es gar nicht abwarten, dies auf den Bühnen Europa oder sonst wo live zu präsentieren.“

HUMAN FORTRESS haben soeben die Aufnahmen für ihr neues Album abgeschlossen. Die Veröffentlichung ist für Ende 2013 geplant.

HUMAN FORTRESS signs with AFM Records!

Hanover (Germany) based epic power metal band HUMAN FORTRESS has signed with AFM Records.
After a 5-year hiatus the band returns with new vocalist Gus Monsanto (ex-Revolution Renaissance/Adagio) and a clear mission ahead:

“With our upcoming album we musically want to continue in the vein of our first two releases “Lord Of Earth And Heavens Heir” and “Defenders Of The Crown”. We are very happy to start this new endeavour with our  fantastic new vocalist Gus Monsanto now”, guitarist Torsten Wolf comments.

Gus Monsanto explains: “I always wanted to do this kind of music but couldn’t find a band like that in Brazil. These songs are epic, with huge hooklines and I was convinced straight away. I can’t wait to play our songs on stage“.

HUMAN FORTRESS have just finished recordings for their upcoming album which will be released by the end of the year.

Spricht man über Thrash Metal aus England, so ist an ONSLAUGHT kein Vorbeikommen. Bereits ihr Comeback mit "Kiling Peace" (2006) war nicht von schlechten Eltern, mit "Sounds Of Violence" (2011) gelang der legendären Band aus Bristol sogar ein Genre-Klassiker der Neuzeit. Kaum möglich, dies nochmals zu toppen - sollte man meinen... aber die Thrash-Veteranen haben das schier Unmögliche möglich gemacht und legen am 20. September mit "VI" ein absolutes Brett von einem Album vor.

Dementsprechend euphorisch zeigt sich auch Bandleader und Gitarrist Nige Rockett:
 
"So, 'VI' ist nun im Kasten und hat unsere Erwasrtungen bei Weitem übertroffen! 
Wir sind wirklich an unsere Grenzen gegangen - und ich denke, das hört man dem Album auch an.

Die multinationalen Melodic Metaller EDEN’S CURSE werden ihr neues und viertes Studioalbum "Symphony Of Sin" am 4. Oktober veröffentlichen. Aufgenommen und produziert wurde das Album von Paul Logue, für Mix und Mastering konnte man erneut Dennis Ward gewinnen. "Symphony Of Sin" ist das erste Album mit Sänger Nikola Mijic (Alogia/Dreyelands) und Keyboarder Steve Williams (Powerquest, ex-Dragonforce). Zuvor erscheint am 12. September "Evil & Divine" als digitale Single und Video vorab.

ONSLAUGHT release new album "VI" on September 20th!
 
Speaking about thrash metal from England, ONSLAUGHT is the first name that comes to mind of course. Their comeback "Kiling Peace" (2006) was a strong effort, with "Sounds Of Violence" (2011) the legendary band from Bristol even delivered a new classic of the genre. Almost impossible to keep this high level or even exceed from here - one should think... but the thrash veterans have managed the impossible and their new album "VI" (to be released on September 20th) will be proof of it.

Therefore it's only logical that guitarrist Nige Rockett is euphoric as never before:
 
"Well, the new album ‘VI’ is finally complete and ready to roll on September  20th and man it has exceeded all our expectations, by a long long way..!!
We really pushed ourselves to the limits in making this record and I think that truly shines thru in the final results. 'VI’ is the most brutal and technical album ONSLAUGHT has ever made no question, it's  ‘Old School, it's contemporary and it's fucking aggressive in the extreme, with a few big suprises thrown in for good measure..! We’ve gone about the whole album making process with a completely different approach and mindset this time around, ranging from the artwork (by Par Oloffson) thru to the final mixes with Thomas Johansson, who I must single out for mention along with our Drummer Michael Hourihan for really upping the ante in the ass kicking stakes..!!!!

WOLFPAKK "Cry Wolf"

To seasoned music lovers, it was obvious and little or no surprise, that the WOLFPAKK debut album of 2011 would not be the last we would hear of the all-star project led by Mark Sweeney (ex-Crystal Ball) and Michael Voss (Mad Max, ex-Casanova). Now, two years later, WOLFPAKK returns with brand new album “Cry Wolf”, and once again many high-class musicians contribute with their very own styles and strengths, forging an album that even outshines that well-received debut.

As on “Wolfpakk” (2011), Voss and Sweeney wrote all the songs together (bar 1 cover version) and were responsible once again for production, mix and vocals.

The process of creating “Cry Wolf” held many personal highlights for the WOLFPAKK leaders, one definitely being the participation of iconic keyboard player Tony Carey, keyboard player for none other than Rainbow.

“It was just unbelievable to have the great Tony Carey on our album”, Sweeney reflects. “The man is a legend and was part of the line-up which recorded Rainbow’s “Rising”, one of the most important albums in rock history. Now, doing a cover version of a track from this very album with Tony playing keyboards, is something very special. And the fact that he likes our cover version of “Run With The Wolf” a lot, makes us extremely proud”.

But Carey is just one of the many fantastic musicians to join the “Pakk” this time. In fact the impressive cast list reads like a veritable “who’s who” of the hard rock/metal scene:

Style-wise the material of “Cry Wolf” follows pretty much the same path as the successful debut. Meaning: any fan of high-quality hard rock can look forward to an album full of catchy, powerful songs, with enough variety to remain exciting forever and a day. From up-tempo smashers such as “The Beast In Me” to beautiful ballads (“Cold Winter”), stomping mid-paced songs (“Pressure Down”) and its 10-minute, epic title track, “Cry Wolf” just delivers.

WOLFPAKK have recently filmed video clips for the songs “Dark Revelation” and “Cold Winter”, both (while very different) enthralling, And you can bet your bottom dollar, that Sweeney and Voss are already talking about and crafting ideas for future collaborations…

UK thrashers ONSLAUGHT have become one of THE bands that are now synonymous with the brilliance of and endurance of today’s thrash movement and it is to the delight of fans and critics around the world when the band announces the release of a new record… Time once again to prepare, because the band, led by charismatic singer Sy Keeler and powerhouse guitar duo Nige Rockett and Andy Rosser-Davies, is set to set the world of thrash on fire again with new album “VI”!! Put simply, if you like your thrash metal ‘Uncompromising’ and with that extra edge, then this is the album for you and September 20th 2013 (UK: September 23rd, USA: September 24th) is your wake-up call.
On first listen tracks such as “Chaos Is King” (the furious opener), “Children Of The Sand”, and “Dead Man Walking” pin ears to the speakers and prove that a move to producer ‘Plec’ Johansson (who mixed the finished article) has given the Keeler vocal an edge that even their definitive 80’s years couldn’t quite capture. With a groove that is dominant, ONSLAUGHT are once again where they should be, ripping up the form book!
“Even at this early, early stage,” says guitarist Rockett, “everyone who has heard “VI” has different stand out tracks…. “Chaos Is King” is a very worthy opening track for an Onslaught album, right up there with “Let There Be Death” and “Born For War”. Definitely the most aggressive song we have ever written, it’s a real relentless thrash out from start to finish that really pushed the boundaries of our playing to the max. It’s actually a prequel to the track “Code Black” on the last album lyrically. If you listen to the intro of “Code Black”, you will hear the end of “Chaos Is King” ... There was a lot of forward planning involved in this.”
“Children Of The Sand” is ONSLAUGHT’s biggest experiment to date without question. Lyrically it reflects the fragile situation in the Middle East, which is inherently caused by religion and the indoctrination it breeds. The music paints a very dark, eastern sounding backdrop for the lyrics and we’ve actually incorporated a 'real string section' and 'female vocals’ to enhance the whole theme!”
“Dead Man Walking” is another different kind of track for ONSLAUGHT. It has this kind of brutal and ferocious Judas Priest vibe to it. It’s probably the most simplistic song on the album, but you can feel the hate as soon as the first note kicks in..!”
ONSLAUGHT were formed in Bristol, England by Nige Rockett (guitar) & Paul Hill (bass) in 1983 and began life under the influence of second generation hard-core punk, but exploiting a strong love for a more metallic sound they would quickly search out this more defined style and secure a deal to release first album, the dark and anarchic “Power From Hell”.
In 1986, with the addition of new vocalist Sy Keeler, the band then signed to Music For Nations and released what has probably become their definitive record of the time, “The Force”. Containing thrash classics like “Let There Be Death” and “Metal Forces”, it would receive rave reviews across the world that would catapult the band into the higher echelons of thrash. Sad then, that it’s follow up, “In Search Of Sanity” (released on London Records in 1989), would prove, despite being the band’s biggest selling LP of the period, to be the end of this particular journey for the band…
You can’t keep a good beast down though! 14 years later, in 2005, Keeler was back, and the first chord of ONSLAUGHT’s return was let loose….! The band signed a new deal with Candlelight, recording that all-important 4th studio album “Killing Peace” (with Andy Sneap - Exodus, Arch Enemy). The fiery vitriol and all important angst that had dominated the early years returned, and has continued to be all-present during this and the band’s last 2011 album “Sounds Of Violence”, recorded with Jacob Hansen.
Puffing out their chests and blasting away with a new drummer in Michael Hourihan, the live shows for “Sounds Of Violence” are now rightly seen as a stepping stone to latest masterpiece “VI”, but as Rockett tells us, the new title just seems to sum this band up…., “When all the songs were complete, none of the track names really sounded like an album title or actually suited the cover’s theme. Seeing as this would be our 6th studio album we decided on the simplicity of 'VI' as it gives us lots of options that keep in with the bands history….. The cover art was painted by Par Oloffson, who has done covers for bands like Immortal and Immolation. The basic idea came from Jeff and I. Jeff did a quick mock-up of the 3 skulls design and Par’s ideas were magic.”
And on the effect on the band of Hourihan (who makes his recording debut with the band on “VI”)? “Simple. WOW! He's a phenomenal drummer and has undoubtedly injected a whole new level of energy and aggression into the Onslaught battery... It was incredible hearing some of the drum patterns he came up with for the album!” Without doubt, ONSLAUGHT are once again where they should be; putting out a record that challenges the norm, and makes a statement to a world that has become darker and, yes also more brutal. This record crushes, plain and simple.

"Touch Of Sin 2" - die Mission des neuen SINNER Albums (Veröffentlichung am 30. August): Bandboss Mat Sinner & Co. nahmen 11 ihrer Klassiker aus den 80ern (von den seit Jahren nicht mehr regulär erhältlichen Kultalben "Dangerous Charm", "Touch Of Sin" und "Comin' Out Fighting") komplett neu auf.
Dazu wurden drei brandneue Songs produziert, zu einem jener Tracks ("Don't Believe A Word") entstand kürzlich ein Videoclip, der demnächst veröffentlicht wird.

SINNER: "Comin' Out Fighting" lyric video!

"Touch Of Sin 2" - the mission for SINNER's new album (release date: August 30th): the band took 11 of their classic tracks from the 80's (from their long out of print cult albums "Dangerous Charm", "Touch Of Sin" and "Comin' Out Fighting") and did an extensive re-recording.
In addition, 3 brand new songs were produced, for one of these ("Don't Believe A Word") recently a video was filmed and will be released soon.
