R.I.P. RICK CHADOCK: The brotherhood of MelodicRock has lost another legend today. I'm deeply saddened to share the news that Rick Chadock - guitarist for White Sister - has passed away, losing a long running battle with cancer overnight.

e-mailed me this morning with this message: "It's with a heavy heart and gut wrenching sadness that I have to inform you that Rick Chadock has passed away early this morning. He lost a long battle with cancer last night…we're all devastated. Rick and his amazing wife Chanel requested that his illness be kept private, not many people knew he was sick. The last two years have been like a bad dream, the last several months a nightmare…as I type this I still can't believe it.
I miss him so much, it hurts…Hug everyone you care about, tell them how much they mean to you…while you can. Peace, Dennis."
- I had the great fortune of meeting Rick and spending some time with him at Firefest 2008. He was a very genuine and down to earth guy, thoroughly humbled by the response from fans on that night in the UK. The band brought the house down - it was just one of those magic performances you see from time to time. My personal condolences go to his wife and family and band mates. I'm sitting here with the White Sister debut playing at impossibly loud volume as a salute to a great person and a great musician. This is another sad sad day for melodic rock fans. R.I.P. Rick.
