THE 69 EYES Check In From 'Red' Video Shoot

Helsinki vampire rockers THE 69 EYES will release the first single,
'Red',
from their upcoming tenth studio album, X, on August 10th via
Nuclear Blast. The band shot a music video for the track this past
weekend with renowned director Patric Ullaeus.

THE 69 EYES new album The69video

Singer Jyrki69 states: "We've known the director Patric for years
and been talking nearly a decade of doing a video with him. So it was
about the time finally! Since the whole new upcoming album X is our
"made in Sweden" record, it was natural to shoot a video with a Swedish
director and in Sweden. I really loved David Fincher's movie The Girl
With The Dragon Tattoo, which is set in Sweden and wanted some of that
kind of vibe to be in this video too. We shot the video in the Bjertorp
Slott mansion outside of Gothenburg. It's a mystery scene in the most
beautiful Swedish countryside with fast sportcars, Playboy playmates and
the Helsinki Vampires!

When The 69 Eyes make videos, it always is more based on pleasure in
contrary to the recording session. And that's how it was again this
time!"

A 30-second snippet of the song is now streaming in the YouTube clip below:

The X album artwork can be seen below:

Commented lead alchemist Jyrki69 on the cover: "The cover is pure
goth 'n' roll: a psychedelic mirror image of old wild animal bones with
our x-tagram projected over all. It's good, evil, magic and voodoo all
together! Something to stare at when tripping on the album."

X is scheduled for a late September release via Nuclear Blast. More info coming soon.

THE 69 EYES – New 'Red' Single Streaming

Helsinki vampires, THE 69 EYES, have released the first single from
their new album, X, which is set to be unleashed September 28th via
Nuclear Blast. 'Red' is currently streaming on the band's Facebook page.

THE 69 EYES new album Redsingle

Commented singer Jyrki69: "This is The 69 Eyes as the most melodic
but even more than that, the most intense. The song has a very intense
feeling, you know, like when your heart beats wild (red), when the world
circles around you and when you find out the painstriking truth. Think
of those scenes in the movies like "Vertigo" or "Vanilla Sky".
Something's broken and there's nothing you can do about it. You're on
the edge and down there is red hot lava waiting...haha, that was too
much Lord of The Rings... But anyways, you got the picture!" dramatizes
THE 69 EYES
vocalist Jyrki. "In metal especially nowadays the music has
became just a hammering sound. No wonder that TESTAMENT is on the
Billboard TOP 20, since they are bringing melodies back to metal. The
new 69 Eyes album, X, is all about melodies plus the usual melancholism.
And it fuckin' rocks too!"

The band has also shot a video clip for 'Red' which together with
renowned producer, Patric Ullaeus (DIMMU BORGIR, KEEP OF KALESSIN, IN
FLAMES). The clip will be released shortly.

THE 69 EYES To Release Digital EP; New Live Dates Confirmed; Jyrki69
Teams Up With Photographer Estevan Oriol For Unicef Nicaragua

Helsinki vampires THE 69 EYES, whose most recent album, X, was released
on September 28th, 2012, will release the digital Love Runs Away EP -
including two previously unreleased bonus songs - via iTunes on February
1st.

THE 69 EYES new album P17hn00li21ljcbvrkcq1e7i1kd94

The tracklisting is as follows:

'Love Runs Away'

'Rosary Blue'
(feat. Kat Von D) (edit)

'Dracula’s Castle'

'Love Runs Away' - the third single and opening track of X that has
by now already become a live-favourite – carries pure rocking metal
riffs and a chorus with a bulletproof hook line.

Singer Jyrki69 comments: “This is the most obvious single track from
the album and already works great on stage, so it’s about time to
release it as a proper single!”

The larger-than-life ballad duet 'Rosary Blue' on which Jyrki is
accompanied by world-famous tattoo artist and L.A. In” star Kat Von D is
the first of two never before heard bonus tracks.

"We’ve known each other for some years and since Kat is also
starting to make music, I thought it would be interesting to have her on
board. The song is amazing and with her help, it turned out even more
magical – it’s like our own 'Stairway to Heaven'”, states the frontman.

The final track 'Dracula’s Castle' is at least equally interesting,
as it can be considered pure rockabilly – or rather gothabilly!

Jyrki shares its background: "THE FUZZTONES is one of my all-time
favourite bands and I’ve got to know their leader Rudi Protrudi a bit.
We wrote this track with him in Berlin one night before our show and he
actually even sings backing vocals on it. Words can’t describe the
feeling of making music with your own idol – I still can’t believe it!
The song is like a Scooby Doo-on-acid-by-HELLOWEEN kind of gothabilly
track. Should be a radio hit too by any standards!”

Don’t miss the chance to hear those hits live on The 69 Eyes
upcoming I Know What You Did Last Summer Tour 2013. Dates are as
follows:

In other news, Jyrki69 teamed up with famous “L.A. fingers” icon
photographer Estevan Oriol last week for the humanitarian mission of
Unicef Nicaragua. Together they spent a week in Nicaragua to see how
Unicef is taking action against trafficking of women and children in the
country. The material will be released in different formats this year.

"It certainly is like often said, the most beautiful country in the
world but all the shadows and snakes in this paradise are a threat that
Unicef is trying to prevent with the local authorities", says Jyrki.

Los-Angeles-based photographer Oriol was responsible for the cover
of The 69 Eyes’ previous album, Back In Blood. Moreover, he’s famous for
his work with EMINEM, CYPRESS HILL, SNOOP DOGG and JAY-Z, among others.
