KROKUS Announce Guest Drummer For Upcoming Tour

Swiss hard rock legends KROKUS have released the following update:

“To answer the numerous questions on our numerous blogs in the last
couple of days regarding detailed info on who's drumming on live gigs in
support of Dirty Dynamite release:

There will be several guest drummers supporting Krokus on tour, for
the time being it is Kosta Zafiriou, who also drummed on our forthcoming
CD release.

Krokus will be a five-piece lineup. The drummer is part of the live
lineup but not official band member (example: when original band member
Bill Wyman left THE ROLLING STONES, he was replaced with Darryl Jones
for live performances, yet he is not pictured on press photos, album
covers, etc.)

Before Krokus will rock festivals in Switzerland and abroad, we want
to ‘get close’ to our fans in some smaller venues, starting in Zurich
and then in our home town (other dates might be added, we will let you
know). Those intimate tour dates are as follows, tickets went on sale a
couple of days ago.”

The Close Contact Dög Tour dates:

May

2 – Zürich, Switzerland - Volkshaus

9 – Solothurn, Switzerland – Kofmehl

Krokus will release their new album, Dirty Dynamite, on February
22nd worldwide via Sony Music. Following tradition, the band has
included another cover song inspired by their time at Abbey Road
Studios. Krokus cover the early BEATLES classic 'Help' with Tommy Heart
(FAIR WARNING, SOUL DOCTOR) contributing guest vocals on this track
together with Marc Storace.

According to a press release, do not expect it to sound like the
Beatles original. The band booked into the legendary Abbey Road Studios
in London. Krokus went back to their roots, back to where it all began
with THE STONES, FREE, THE WHO and THE BLUESBREAKERS. Back to where the
band headlined concerts in the Hammersmith Odeon, celebrating their
first international success.

"The atmosphere there is very special and we wanted to make the most
of that", says vocalist Marc Storace. Guitarist Fernando Von Arb is
quick to add: "With Dirty Dynamite we have recorded the urgently needed
dirty kind of rock that no one plays in this country".

Meet The Newest Member Of KROKUS - Da Dög!

Swiss rockers KROKUS have unleashed a new star - one of the four-legged
variety - with their new album, Dirty Dynamite, due out via Sony Music
on February 22nd in Europe and March 5th in North America as a digital
download, regular CD and limited edition double vinyl.

KROKUS - New Album P17k1648laurkvgvu551lv4vnm4

Da Dög - the Olde English Bulldog with aviator goggles and a
cigarette hanging from his mouth featured on the cover of Dirty Dynamite
- walked in the spotlight on the red carpet with bassist/producer Chris
Von Rohr at the Swiss Awards recently

How did this bulldog become the newest member of Krokus? "This dog
radiates a philosophical serenity and at the same time pure fun,"
explains Von Rohr . "The two-year old rock stud is originally from
Solothurn, Switzerland - like Krokus, but lives these days in the Zurich
region, where most of the time he just likes to chill and do nothing."

"He is a quiet and lazy dog, not very active, rather easy going,"
tells owner Patrizia of Da Dög, who actually goes by the name of Maddox.
"One exception is when he can chase a ball. Or he's getting some food:
dog food, cucumbers, carrots. He loves any kind of food except fennel,
he categorically spits that one out,"adds Patrizia. "We have to watch
him, because he could eat all day long."

And while Krokus roar in concert halls all over the world, the
oldest of a litter of ten makes the walls of the home he lives at shake,
rattle and roll. "He's not allowed to sleep in the bedroom. He snores
so loud, no one gets a good night's sleep," confesses Patrizia.

But these days sleep is the last thing in anyone's mind. Asked if
the Da Dög will rock forever, the band answers in unison with a loud an
clear "Yes." Being the band's official mascot, he was able to
exclusively listen in advance to the Dirty Dynamite album. His reaction?
"Woof!"

'Let The Good Times Roll'

'Help'
(BEATLES cover)

'Better Than Sex'

KROKUS Rehearsing For Upcoming Live Dates

Swiss hard rock legends KROKUS are rehearsing at full throttle in the
living room of bassist/producer Chris von Rohr's 103-year old villa for
the upcoming tour dates.

"If a song played on low volume sounds thrilling, we know that it
really will sound incredible played at a higher volume," explains the
host this relaxed hard rock rehearsal in his living room. "The
atmosphere here is perfect," says guitarist Mandy Meyer, who has come
back to the fold of the classic formation 30 years later. "Here we can
arrange the sound of our guitars perfectly before we rev up the sound
volume controls from two to ten."

KROKUS - New Album P17o55dm9sbu1bm91gjlpv21sa84

"At present the fun factor in our band is higher than ever," says
Fernando von Arb, as he sweeps gently over the strings of his guitar.
Vocalist Marc Storace adds: "We are very proud of the cool new songs."

After a handful of smaller venues in Switzerland, starting May 2nd,
Krokus are scheduled to play huge festivals throughout Europe. Asia is
knocking at the door next, wanting the Swiss rockers to tour there next
and America has shown interest as well. "We old dogs will rock like
puppies," promises Von Arb.

KROKUS
- "DIRTY DYNAMITE" GOES PLATINUM
]
From the Krokus Newsletter: "Right
before the first concert of our sold out "Closer Contact Doeg Tour" our
record label Sony Music presented us with gold and platinum record
awards. Swiss boulevard paper "Blick" reports in today's edition: For
almost 40 years they have been in the charts with every one of their
releases. During the presentation the band's founder, producer and
bassist Chris Von Rohr points out: "We worked extremely hard on this album and gave it our all. Bottom line, it was worth it". And vocalist Marc Storace adds: "It's an incredible feeling after so many decades to still be on top of the Swiss music scene".
During the bands long spanning career they have sold over 14 million
albums worldwide. All concerts of their current tour are sold out. Chris
Von Rohr adds: "We would like to thank all of our fans from the
bottom of our hearts for their continuous support over the years. We
never had so much fun as a band with this album than any other and we
will rock (for you) till the very end".

Meet Our New Drummer Flavio Mezzodi
For Flavio Mezzodi a childhood dream has come true. "At age 10 I wanted nothing more than playing in a rock band and play all over the world", he states. "And now that dream has become reality". The drummer from Solothurn, where Krokus is from, is officially the new drummer of the band. Bassist and producer Chris Von Rohr says it best: "The precision and groove of his drum work is exactly what our band needed. We are extremely happy that we found him." Three years ago Freddy Steady
left the band that had sold over 14 million albums worldwide,
establishing Krokus as the most successful Swiss rock band ever. The new
platinum awarded CD Dirty Dynamite was recorded with a session drummer. Adds Marc "The Voice" Storace: "Now we are complete again."
Flavio learned his drum skills at the Dante Agostini Drum School in
Paris. He also teaches at numerous schools drumming, whenever he is not
touring with Krokus. He played professionally with Swiss acts Stefanie
Heinzmann and the band Fox. Mezzodi grew up listening to Krokus. One of
the first records he ever heard was the band's 1980 "Metal Rendez-Vous"
release.
Over the almost four decade's time, the band's drumming job has been
often vacant. Freddy Steady left the band multiple times. The other
Swiss drummer, Dani Crivelli, tragically passed about three weeks ago.
Marc Storace further explains: "Flavio is a great human being and
musically fits perfectly into our line-up. With him on drums, we will
rock with even more power."

Sold Out Shows - In support of our Platinum CD Dirty Dynamite
we kicked off 5 sold out concerts in Zurich (2) and the band's hometown
of Solothurn (3). It was a magic experience for us to connect with
you, the fans. Zurich and Solothurn, You rocked!!
