| MITCH MALLOY SHINE'S ON AND THE REVEALING OF AN ARCHIVE VAN HALEN DEMO: Much love AOR star Mitch Malloy is back with an old/new album, to be released on CD at Firefest weekend in the UK (Oct 19-21) and thereafter digitally via iTunes and CD via www.mitchmalloy.com and aorheaven.com. Shine On is an almost completely re-recorded Shine album, bringing in 3 brand new tracks. Mitch stated to Rocktopia: "Although 'Shine' was partially funded by Eddie Van Halen himself, as he really liked the songs, I wasn't able to get it to sound how I wanted it to sound with the budget that I had, so I was never happy with it and didn't want to put it on iTunes. So I decided to re-mix it and in trying to do that discovered that many things were missing. Many, many tracks were gone and some to the point I couldn't even do those songs. So I had to leave them behind and write three new songs for 'Shine On'. So it's three brand new songs. Two new versions of songs with brand new recordings and the rest are all new instruments and vocals except for drum tracks. One song is almost the same instruments but I decided to do it as a duet with my sister Holy, so that is also a new twist. So it started to become this whole different CD and that is why it's got a new name. It's not an old album at all, it's a new album, with a brand new cover and art work that was so well done by James Gaden."
The track listing is: Shine (New), You Lift Me, It's About Love, Draw The Line, Loves Own Hand, Places Only Love Can Go, Love Made A Liar Out Of Me, What I'm Livin For (New), Nothing New, Never Enough (New).
