Here’s what some of the bands are saying about ShipRocked:
Ivan Moody, Five Finger Death Punch: "We had a blast playing ShipRocked last year, and what better way to start off 2014 than cruising to the Caribbean? It was such a cool experience getting to hang with our fans and we look forward to coming back and bringing our two new albums with us this time."
In This Moment: "We are excited beyond words to be back on ShipRocked for the third consecutive year. It's such an honor to be asked again and we plan on bringing the best show of our career to the ship this year, all guns blazing! We can't wait to meet the fans, drink piña coladas and rock the fuck out! See you on the boat!"
Cristina Scabbia, Lacuna Coil: “ShipRocked is going to be fantastic! It is already kind of superfluous to say that a cruise from Miami to the Bahamas - full of metal kids, great bands and outstanding food - will be an experience I am incredibly excited to make, but can I also mention that I pretty much know all of the bands on board? That means this will be a cruise with friends…and I just can't wait to make new ones! Get onboard with us, you know you guys will regret it if you'll miss it. Rock on!”
Andrea Ferro, Lacuna Coil: “What turns me on about being part of ShipRocked is that you close the gap between dreaming and doing. A great ship sailing from Miami to the Bahamas with a lot of great bands, friends and crazy rockers - yes please, it's gonna be awesome!”
Monster Energy returns for a third year as a primary ShipRocked sponsor with many of the band performances taking place on the Monster Energy deck stage, and Monster beverages being poured at bars throughout the ship. The Monster Energy acts on this year’s ShipRocked include Five Finger Death Punch, In This Moment, Sevendust and Young Guns.
Hoffman Family Cellars’ Headbanger brand has joined ShipRocked as theofficial wine sponsor. Headbanger will be poured throughout the cruise, and several bands will perform in the Headbanger Lounge (Spinnaker). Hoffman Family Cellars owns and makes four wine brands (Headbanger, 401K, Curveball, Atmosphere). ShipRocked creator/producer Alan Koenig of ASK4 Entertainment stated, “The Headbanger Brand and the people behind the wine match our passion for music and having a great time.”
Meliti Acoustics, makers of custom drums, will give cruise guests the chance to showcase their chops in a rockin' drum battle. Meliti invites ShipRocked guests to “impress the audience and show the judges your inner Bonham.” In addition to their new line of drums, Meliti Acoustics offers the best in premium sound reproduction with their stereo loudspeakers and complete home theaters. Every product is made by hand in their Connecticut shop.
A limited number of staterooms for the ShipRocked 2014 experience are still available at ShipRocked.com.
Each ShipRocked is a once-in-a-lifetime experience that provides guests with the opportunity to vacation with their favorite bands, meet new friends, and reunite with old friends year after year. On any given day, guests might find themselves dining, drinking, rocking out, swimming, working out, or gambling alongside their favorite rock stars. The full-ship charter provides a one-of-a-kind experience for guests to have the time of their life with thousands of like-minded friends.
For the first time in 2014, ShipRocked will wash ashore on its own private island. Guests will spend two full days enjoying concerts and activities on a private beach on Great Stirrup Cay in the Bahamas. The island features a large performance area on the beach with full production for rock shows and offers various island excursions such as parasailing, snorkeling, canoeing and more.
2014 also marks a vessel change for ShipRocked. The January ShipRocked voyage will be held onboard the Norwegian Pearl, which Frommer’s calls one of the “most original mainstream megaships.” The Pearl features luxurious accommodations, along with 16 delicious dining options, 13 bars and lounges, casino, spa, fitness center, a chic bowling alley, rock climbing wall, sports court, two pools, waterslides, hot tubs, and much more.
As in the past, ShipRocked guests will enjoy multiple performances from every band on different stages throughout the ship, artist meet and greets, Q&A sessions, along with artist-hosted activities including contests, game shows, insane parties, theme nights and more.
The ShipRocked charity auction will benefit Cancer Sucks, a nonprofit organization dedicated to funding innovative medical research and finding a cure for cancer. The auction will feature one-of-a-kind rock memorabilia from current and past ShipRocked bands and more. ShipRocked guests have a history of generosity, with previous onboard auctions raising over $150,000 for various charities.
