SHARP DRESSED MEN OF ZZ TOP 'INTHESTUDIO':
Dallas, TX - MARCH 19, 2013. North American syndicated Rock radio show and website InTheStudio: The Stories Behind History's Greatest Rock Bands goes to Houston, Texas via Memphis Tennessee for the 30th anniversary of the ten million selling album Eliminator from ZZ Top.
The little ole band from Texas carved out a unique niche in 1970s rock,
but it would be the March 1983 release of Eliminator that would take ZZ
Top from 'bad and nationwide' to international super stars. The
introduction of synthesizers had actually occurred on ZZ Top's 1981
album El Loco, but the sound was perfected along with their songwriting
on Eliminator which delivered three hits Gimme All Your Lovin', Sharp
Dressed Man, and Legs. Billy Gibbons tells host Redbeard why Memphis
was such an important place for ZZ Top to record many of their most
popular albums.
When you get into Memphis and you start breathing that air and that
musical vibe hits you, it's just right there. It inspires you to write.
You can go to Memphis and there's just something that comes over you.
