ROCK CANDY UNLEASH LATEST RE-ISSUES:]
Four new Rock Candy titles are available now from www.rockcandyrecords.com for a discounted price including postage to anywhere in the world for the next two weeks ending March 17.

Wild Horses 'S/T' CANDY168 /
Launched as a veritable super group featuring ex-Rainbow bassist Jimmy
Bain and former Thin Lizzy guitarist Brian Roberston, Wild Horse were
trumpeted by the music community as the next big thing. Indeed, their
self-titled debut album turned a great number of heads and confounded
those who dismissed the toxic twins as mere opportunists looking to cash
in on their notoriety. With an impressive album behind them and
explosive live shows helping to build up a healthy head of steam, the
bands star was decidedly in the ascendancy. 'Stand Your Ground',
originally issued in May 1981, found the band changing the line-up with
Neil Carter departing for pastures new (going on to join UFO) and being
replaced by the previously unknown John Lockton. Enlisting the help of
Producer/Engineer Kit Woolven who had previously worked with Thin Lizzy
and on Phil Lynott's two solo albums, the band headed into Good Earth
Studio, owned and operated by another Lizzy alumnus, Tony Visconti. In
keeping with the bands volatile reputation the recordings were the
subject of fractious conflict between Bain and Robertson, the two men at
odds with the direction the music was taking. With that in mind, 'Stand
Your Ground' is a diverse and exciting record full of surprises set
amidst an atmosphere of tension and nervous energy. Not surprisingly it
was the final record from the band, both principals opting to go their
separate ways.
24-bit remastering from original source tapes, seven bonus tracks,
features Brian Robertson and Jimmy Bain, 3,500 word essay about the
making of the album, new interview with Brian Robertson and enhanced
artwork as all spread out over a 12 page full colour booklet.

Wild Horses 'Stand Your Ground'
CANDY169 / Rainbow and Thin Lizzy were two of the biggest names in rock
during the 70s so when Rainbow dispensed with the services of bassist
Jimmy Bain
and Thin Lizzy dismissed guitarist Brian Robertson it was
almost inevitable that the two would join forces to create a new
powerhouse rock group. Indeed, with Bain and Robertson sharing a London
flat together the musical combination was quickly cemented going under
the forceful moniker of Wild Horses. Looking to solidify the line-up
they approached several potential drummers including, at first, former
Faces and Who stalwart, Kenney Jones before settling for one time Pat
Travers sticks man Clive Edwards. They also enlisted then unknown
multi-instrumentalist Neil Carter, later to join UFO and Gary Moore.
Stepping into Konk Studios with South African born producer/artist
Trevor Rabin it was this unit that cut the debut Wild Horse album for
EMI, a record bristling with fresh promise.
Renowned for their hair raising personalities Robertson and Bain
delivered explosive guitar driven tracks big on hooks but smooth enough
to appeal to radio. Amongst the material on offer were songs co-written
by Robertson's former Lizzy band mates Scott Gorham and Phil Lynott.
Originally released in April 1980, the band's debut album still sounds
exciting and fresh, a testimony to the talent involved.
